Gertrude the GTP Goat

Hello everyone,
I am Gertrude the GTP goat. I am trying to be a full time goat, and one day hope to have a field of my own. I am currently training very hard to be a real goat.

I am quite new to Miriam Lord, but feel like all my friends there are really making me feel welcome. I hope you will be my friend too.

I can sometimes be found chewing grass in 5SW. I really enjoy literacy and ICT, and there are lots and lots of books for me to read there.

I hope to see you soon

Gertie X

Hello Gertie, I bet the Year 5 children were excited to meet you. I prefer to eat meat (don't panic, I don't eat goat) and Barry only ever eats bananas. I look forward to seeing what you get up to in Year 5 as I have heard that the teacher in there plans to do some animation this half term.... you are so lucky, let us know if you need any "extras" for your film.

  4. Hello Gertie! Welcome to the bestest class around! Can I ask a question please? What does GTP stand for? I haven't got any other goat friends to ask so I hope you don't mind!

  6. In the goat world GTP means Goat Training Programme, but the teacher who looks after me says it actually means the Graduate Teaching Programme.

    I hope that helps.
Thank you for all your warm welcomes

  7. Hello Gertie,

    Welcome to Miriam Lord!
You look a little shy in your photo. I imagine you were nervous meeting all the children in 5SW for the first time. However, I'm sure you're going to have a great time with the children.

I agree with you about the books, the shelves are crowded with them! Which one will you choose to read first? Maybe one of your new friends can recommend their favourite book to you. I can't wait to hear which one you choose.
