I love the way that Yr6 decorated most of the school with their amazing work on the Ancient Greeks. I have to say that it is one of my favourite topics. I always fancied lying on a settee and having someone peel me a grape! :)jfb57https://www.blogger.com/profile/00577581234420599730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6907535780299590692.post-55215347207848737642012-01-07T22:57:25.450+00:002012-01-07T22:57:25.450+00:00Γεια σας, Έτος 6.

Part of our studies was about Ancient Greece and the member states.

I found the history fascinating as the civilisations rose, battled with each other and other powers, worshipped their gods, created their art and crafts and introduced ideas into mathematics and politics. Today we can still see many examples of the culture of the Ancient Greeks as well as the friendly Greek people.

Did you know it is claimed the second highest city population claiming to have Greek heritage is Melbourne in Australia? It's said to be second only to Athens so Greek heritage has become an important part of Australia's cultural heritage too. :)

With names such as Pythagoras, Plato, Socrates, Hipporates and Homer (No, he has nothing to do with Homer Simpson), Greek culture has given our world so much. Perhaps my favourite of all is Aesop because of the famous fables credited to him.

Your art and craft works based on the Greek look brilliant as do the costumes for your Greek plays. I can see your Greek Day would have been great fun for all.

@RossMannell
Teacher, NSW, AustraliaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6907535780299590692.post-1507801854873498142012-01-07T22:15:43.765+00:002012-01-07T22:15:43.765+00:00I did enjoy making the e-books too however the hig...I did enjoy making the e-books too however the highlight of Greek day for me had to be Safyan's outstanding performance as Perspehone in the Greek play.
